St. Jude Parish bolsters its strength through the service of its volunteers. Without you, our parish would not be able to function as effectively as it does. Your willingness to put yourself forward and lend your gifts and talents contributes to creating a stronger ministry for St. Jude Parish.
As a volunteer, you are required to be in full compliance with the Diocesan Safe Environment Policy which was created to assure that church volunteers be committed to providing a safe environment for our children and youth. Clearances are required for ALL who minister in the name of the Church, even if the ministry/volunteer activity does not directly involve children.
If you serve on the Parish Pastoral Council or the Parish Finance Council, or you are involved in a parish ministry, e.g. lector, extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, choir, usher, religious education, wedding coordinator, festival worker, etc., you are required to obtain clearances for your service. Additionally, if you sit on any parish committee, e.g. Social Justice Committee, the same requirements apply.
The following clearances are to be renewed every 5 years:
Child Abuse History Clearance
FBI Clearance or Waiver
Renewable every 3 years: Protecting God's Children Online Training Sessions
If your email address or telephone number has changed within the last two years, please notify Sister Ann Rosalia, Safe Environment Coordinator at [email protected]. If you are unsure of your clearance status, you can check it by logging on to www.virtus.org (the accesss code is the word “protect”). You may also contact Sister Ann Rosalia at [email protected].
St. Jude Parish appreciates your devoted service and asks God’s blessings on all your ministries.
