Fr. Daniel P. Horan is the Director of the Center for Spirituality and a Professor of Philosophy, Religious Studies and Theology at St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. He previously held the Dun Scotus Chair of Spirituality at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. As a prolific writer, he is a columnist for National Catholic Reporter and the author of fourteen books, including Catholicity and Emerging Personhood: A Contemporary Theological Anthropology and A White Catholics Guide to Racism and Privilege.
He is the recipient of numerous awards for his writing and service and is the co-host of The Francis Effect Podcast, exploring politics and current events through the lens of Catholic teaching and spirituality. Fr. Horan is a much sought after lecturer throughout the United States and abroad. He serves on the Board of Trustees of St. Bonaventure University as well as the Board of Regents at the Franciscan School of Theology of the University of San Diego. In addition, he has served several terms on the Board of Directors of the International Thomas Merton Society.
