Two thousand years ago, three Wise Men believed that the brilliant star shining in the East would take them to the place where the Christ Child, the Savior of the world, lay.
Today, that Christ Child has given a new generation of wise men and women the brilliance to explore His spectacular universe.
Faith and Science will come together during the Christmas Season
The Saint Jude Parish Speaker Series “Sharing the Light” is honored to present two of today’s “Wise Men" John Thornton and his wife Justine Kasznica, Wednesday, December 7th, at 7:00 PM.
John is the Co-Founder and President of Astrobotic, under whose vision an extraordinary team built the Peregrine Lunar Lander, poised to carry out the first commercial mission to the Moon. Peregrine will be the first American spacecraft to land on the surface of the moon since the Apollo Program nearly 60 years ago. Designed and built in their headquarters on the North Side of Pittsburgh, the Lander will carry “payloads” of instruments, experiments, and mini rovers to the moon. Time Magazine has recognized John as one of the World’s Rising Stars.
Justine is a shareholder at the law firm Babst Calland in their Emerging Technologies Practice as well as being outside General Counsel at Astrobotic. She regularly serves as an adviser on legal and regulatory topics related to autonomous vehicles, unmanned aircraft systems, and commercial space ventures. In addition, she’s an adviser to various space technology companies and projects.
John and Justine and their daughter Olympia are members of Saint Jude Parish. Please join us in welcoming our friends Wednesday evening December 7th, at 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 310 Shady Avenue, 15206
Their presentation will be live-streamed on our Facebook live: https://saintjudepgh.org/streaming
