For more than a century, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Pittsburgh has forged fresh starts for tens of thousands of our neighbors in southwestern Pennsylvania. As the social services arm of the Church, they meet people at their point of need and guide them to long-term, self-sustaining solutions.
Today, they’re entering a new era on behalf of the Pittsburgh region to meet increasingly difficult, complex, and distressing challenges. They are establishing a new location in downtown Pittsburgh called Compassion Corner – a new home for hope.
Please join us Thursday, November 16th in Sacred Heart Church to welcome Susan, Christopher, and Fr. Chris, who will be our guests to discuss a new era of care and service to meet these increasingly difficult complex and distressing challenges.
Housed in the former diocesan building at 111 Blvd of the Allies Catholic Charities will be a place of new approaches and expanded solutions to be shared throughout southwestern Pennsylvania, including:
Compassion Corner will also enjoy associations with other agencies, including the Gift of Mary, which is a temporary shelter for women escaping emotional and physical violence. Catholic Charities stands ready to offer case management and counseling. They also work closely with their next-door neighbor, Red Door Ministries, to offer dedicated free health care and crisis case management services specific to the vulnerable population the ministry serves.
